Jan Howard

[+]
Jan was a housewife with a voice when her husband, Harlan Howard, recruited her to start singing demos while they were living in L.A. The demos led to a record deal on the Challenge label, and in 1964 Jan Howard signed with Decca in Nashville. She soon enjoyed a pair of Top Ten solo hits, "Evil On Your Mind" and "Bad Seed." She had her greatest success as a duet partner with Bill Anderson, with whom she had four Top Five duets. In 1971 Jan Howard became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
