This CD features classic performances by JULIE FELIX.
2008 two CD set, the first ever reissue of recordings from Decca UKs first Folk signing, containing all three of her albums spanning the years 1964 66 . Fresh from touring Europe Julie had been spotted by Leonard Cohen in Ibiza and then relocated to London. The songs on the three LPs recorded with Decca are essentially Julies repertoire from the sets she had performed on constant live tours since 1961. She left Santa Barbara, California with her Mexican guitar, singing songs learned in Mexico and California, and songs picked up along the way. Julie injected a modern consciousness into the traditional scene , totally at one with the times. They include songs from her Spanish Mexican heritage, songs from her contemporaries Dylan, Seeger, Ochs and Tom Paxton, songs from her new found friends Donovan and Bert Jansch and songs from her own pen.
