Ace Cannon Biography

Ace Cannon, saxophonist extraordinaire, played on a number of Sun Records releases, then, in 1959 became a part of the Bill Black Combo. In 1961 Ace Cannon went out on his own with a Top Twenty pop hit called "Tuff". Over the next few years he continued to chart with his blues-influenced stylings. In 1975 Ace Cannon tried recording in Nashville. And though Country music has never shown a strong attraction to saxophone instrumentals, Ace Canon managed to get some airplay and chart action strictly on the basis of pure talent and tasty records.
