Carl Smith Biography |
|
From 1951 through 1954 Carl Smith enjoyed a huge run of hits. During that time he had 13 Top Ten records including four #1's: "Let Old Mother Nature Have Her Way," "Don't Just Stand There," "Hey Joe," and "Loose Talk." Over the next four years Carl Smith continued to have hits, and in the many remaining years that he recorded for Columbia, he gradually faded from the top of the charts. In the '60s Carl Smith had a successful five year run with his syndicated Canadian TV show, Country Music Hall. In 1973 Carl Smith left Columbia after 23 years on the label. He eventually retired to devote more time to the quarter horses he was raising on his middle Tennessee ranch. Carl Smith Discography |
