Chuck Wagon Gang Biography |
|
The Chuck Wagon Gang is the most enduring of all the Country gospel groups. Formed in the mid-1930s, their repertoire at first included both secular and religious songs, but their future was in gospel. By the time World War II arrived, the little family group had made their musical decision to be a gospel aggregation. The Chuck Wagon Gang recorded more than four hundred sides for Columbia alone, and over their sixty-year career the Chuck Wagon Gang were gospel favorites on radio, records, and in live performances. The Chuck Wagon Gang are credited with being the first gospel group to release an album and presented a number of great Albert B. Brumley songs to the world. Chuck Wagon Gang Discography |
