Crystal Gayle Biography |
|
Crystal Gayle is Loretta Lynn's kid sister, raised in town, not in the country, and blessed with a singing style that reflected the difference. Crystal signed with Decca Records in 1970 and had one chart record but without much success. Later in the decade, Crystal Gayle moved to United Artists and teamed up with producer Allen Reynolds, and began recording a long series of distinctly uptown hit records. They included "Talking In Your Sleep," "I'll Get Over You," "When I Dream," "Half The Way," and one of the great classic records to ever come out of Nashville, "Don't It Make Your Brown Eyes Blue," which was number 1 country hit and number 2 on the pop charts.
