Del Reeves Biography

Del Reeves is one of Country music's great entertainers, known throughout the land for his sparkling personality and great imitations. He is also remembered for some major Country hits in the '60s and '70s. Del Reeves broke into the charts on Decca in 1961 with a Top Ten hit, "Be Quiet Mind," and four years later had his biggest hit, the classic "Girl On The Billboard," his first single on United Artists, which went to #1 on the Billboard Country singles chart. Other Top Ten hits followed, including "The Belles Of Southern Belle," "Women Do Funny Things To Me," "Looking At The World Through A Windshield," "Goodtime Charlies," "Be Glad," and "The Philadelphia Fillies." After 1971 Del Reeves' recording career began to wane, but he remained a favorite on the Grand Ole Opry and in arenas and honky tonks around the country.
