Dottie West sang in a band at Tennessee Tech where she met the steel guitar player and her future first husband Bill West. The two would go on to tour clubs and appear on TV shows. These singles were followed up by the top ten hit with Jim Reeves "Love is No Excuse." Dottie West was the first female country artist to win a Grammy with her #1 hit "Here Comes My Baby." During the 60's, 70's, and early 80's Dottie West managed to do really well selling out tickets to her concerts and winning numerous awards.
