Ed Bruce Biography

We've all heard the mighty voice of Ed Bruce singing and narrating in many commercials and films, but Ed Bruce has also had a long and successful career as a singer and songwriter. Most artists are lucky to record for one label in his or her career. Ed Bruce recorded for Sun, Wand/Scepter, RCA, Monument, United Artists, Epic, MCA, then RCA again. In the early 80s Ed Bruce had some big hits on MCA including, "You're The Best Break This Old Heart Ever Had," "Ever, Never Lovin' You," and "My First Taste Of Texas." He has had some huge, award-winning hits as a songwriter, most notably the Country standard, "Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys." In later years Ed Bruce appeared in numerous television drama series and made-for-TV movies.
