Eddie Rabbit Biography

Brooklyn-born, Jersey-reared Eddie Rabbitt came to Nashville in the late 1960s and made his mark as a songwriter with "Kentucky Rain" for Elvis, and "Pure Love," a big hit for Ronnie Milsap. In 1974 he signed as an artist with Elektra Records and two years later had his first #1 hit, "Drinkin' My Baby (Off My Mind)." As a singer and songwriter Eddie really had his finger on the pulse of country fans of that era. Many more number 1 hits followed, including "I Just Want To Love You," "Every Which Way But Loose," "Drivin' My Life Away," "I Love A Rainy Night," "Step By Step," and a duet with Crystal Gayle titled "You And I." Radio fell in love with Eddie's voice, and made Eddie Rabbit one of the most listened to country voices of the late 70s and early 80s.
