Ernest Tubb Biography |
|
Ernest Tubb was one of the great Country stars of the '40s, '50s and '60s. Tall and gaunt, what he lacked in vocal talent he easily made up for with style and sincerity. In other words, Ernest Tubb knew how to sing a song to his public. In the '40s songs like "Walking The Floor Over You," "Soldier's Last Letter," "Filipino Baby," "Drivin' Nails In My Coffin," and "Blue Christmas" made Ernest Tubb a household name throughout the South and beyond. Through the '50s he continued to have Top Ten Country hits, and by the time his recording career began to slip in the '60s, he had one of the top syndicated Country TV shows in America.
