From Light Rock to Country, Exile has etched out their niche in popular music. In 1978, this Kentucky-based band erupted with their disco inspired hit, "I Wanna Touch You All Over." This success, however, was diminished by their incapability of producing more hits. They retooled and changed their sound from pop to something little more their speed; Country music just seemed to be a better fit for them. Their most memorable hits during the 1980's were, "Give Me One More Chance," "Crazy For Your Love," and "Woke Up In Love." From 1986-1988, they scored number one hits with, "I Could Get Used To You," "It'll Be Me," "She's Too Good To Be True," and "I Can't Get Close Enough." Because of many changes in personnel, Exile had to disband in 1996. Bands such as Sawyer Brown and Restless Heart have copied their sound, but there will only be one Exile.
