Freddie Hart's recording career was supposed to be over when Capitol Records put out "Easy Loving" just to satisfy its contract obligations. The record became the CMA "Song of the Year" in both 1971 and '72. In 1972 he won CMA Awards for best entertainer, best male vocalist, best record and best album. Freddie Hart was born in Lochapoka, Alabama, one of fifteen children. He entered the military at the age of fourteen and fought in WW II. After his release from service Freddie Hart traveled the country for years in search of music success before Lefty Frizzell helped him get his first record contract at Capitol in 1953. Record deals with Columbia, Monument and Kapp followed before his fateful return to Capitol. After "Easy Loving," Freddie Hart had a long string of mostly self-written #1 ballad hits. br>Freddie Hart Discography
