Gene Watson Biography |
|
Gene Watson is one of the great voices of Country music. There are no gimmicks in his style, just pure feeling and vocal quality. For many years Gene Watson was a Texas honky tonk singer. Then in 1975, he signed with Capitol Records and immediately scored a Top Ten hit with "Love On A Hot Afternoon," a song that remains a Country classic many years later. Later hits for Gene Watson included "Fourteen Carat Mind," "Paper Rosie," "Nothing Sure Looked Good On You," and "Got No Reason Now For Going Home." Many of his other singles indicated a willingness to stay true to his vision even if they weren't what radio was demanding. Although Gene has rarely enjoyed huge record sales, his recordings stand up well over the years as Country classics. After a long stay on Capitol, Gene Watson recorded for MCA, Warner Brothers, Epic, Broadland and Step One, and his records never lost their magic. br>Gene Watson Discography |
