A great guitar player and singer, Glen Campbell had a country raising, but his early career in California seemed shaded toward the pop side, including when he toured with the Beach Boys. He was also a sought-after studio musician. But Glen Campbell was bound for Country and, in 1967, he hit pay dirt with "Gentle On My Mind," not a huge hit, but it won a Grammy and launched what would become a certified Gold album. Many hits followed, including "By The Time I Get To Phoenix," "Galveston," "Wichita Lineman," "Dreams Of The Everyday Housewife," and many more. Glen Campbell had a hit TV show, The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, a hit movie with John Wayne, True Grit, and he won many more awards. Glen Campbell has had a great career even if his musical artistry, at times, eclipsed his commercial success. br>Glen Campbell Discography |
