Hank Locklin Biography

Hank Locklin had some early success in the forties in his native state of Florida. In 1949 he began performing on the Louisiana Hayride and also had his first hit record, "The Same Sweet Girl." After two more Top Five hits he clicked on RCA with the classic "Send Me The Pillow That You Dream On." Then in 1960 his version of "Please Help Me I'm Falling" not only went to #1 in Country but was one of a storm of pop crossovers to emerge from Nashville during this time. In 19 years he compiled a long list of chart records and his lilting tenor voice was a feature of the Grand Ole Opry. Hank has a strong affinity for traditional country music underscored by albums he recorded on RCA in tribute to Roy Acuff, Hank Williams and Eddy Arnold.
