Hank Snow Biography |
|
Hank Snow had one of the longest recording careers in country music. Even late in his career his unique voice held up well in his frequent appearances on the Grand Ole Opry. After a dozen years recording in his native Canada Hank moved to the U.S. market. His second single on RCA, "I'm Movin' On," became a country classic and paved the way for two more number 1s, "Golden Rocket" and "Rhumba Boogie." Through the 50s nearly all of Hank Snow's singles were top 10. The 60s were not as kind to him but in '62 he hit number 1 with another great classic, "I've Been Everywhere." Hank Snow was still recording for RCA in the early 70s but it looked as if his hit-making days were behind him. Then, in 1974 he rose from the ashes with his last big number 1 single, "Hello, Love." His last chart single came six years later, capping three decades on the U.S. singles chart. Some may also remember that Hank Snow was also a virtuoso guitar player who recorded two guitar albums with his longtime boss at RCA, Chet Atkins. br>Hank Snow Discography |
