Harlan Howard Biography

Some call Harlan Howard the Irving Berlin of Country music. Others call Harlan Howard the Ted Williams of Country music. Over more than four decades Harlan Howard wrote many of Country's biggest hits, including "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down," "I Fall To Pieces," "Too Many Rivers," "No Charge," "I've Got A Tiger By The Tail," "Blame It On Your Heart," "Heartaches By The Number," and scores – maybe hundreds – more. His lyrics found their way to your heart, and his deceptively simple melodies were some of Country's best ever. Though Harlan Howard did some recording, he never established himself as a singing star (although his rough-hewn voice instinctively knew what to do with one of his own songs.)
