In the early days of Country music comedy was a very important part of the Grand Ole Opry and the traveling package shows, but by the 1970s there were few laughs left for Country fans. Then Jerry Clower joined the Opry in 1973 and he was a breath of fresh air in the world of Country music. By this time Jerry Clower was a mainstay on MCA Records, and fans throughout the heartland looked forward to taking home albums like "Clower Power," and "From The Mouth Of Mississippi." Jerry Clower's style was in the time-honored Country tradition of story-telling and eccentric characters.
