John Conlee was one of the best voices to follow in the tradition of note-benders like Lefty Frizzell and George Jones, but the style he developed was unique and served him well as he sang the soulful laments of aging blue-collar folks. Beginning with "Rose Colored Glasses," John Conlee scored again and again through the late '70s and the '80s with big hits like "Back Side Of Thirty," "Lady Lay Down," "Common Man," and "I Don't Remember Loving You." Many of these hits were #1 records, and all of them were well written, well sung, and produced with class by former Blue Boy Bud Logan. John Conlee became a Grand Ole Opry member in 1981. br>John Conlee Discography
