Johnny Duncan Biography

Johnny Duncan was signed to Columbia in 1966, but it wasn't until 1973 that he had his first Top Ten hit, "Sweet Country Woman." In 1976 Johnny Duncan recorded a Kris Kristofferson song called "Stranger" with Janie Fricke jumping from a backup singer role to a sort of almost-but-not quite duet status. "Stranger" was Top Five hit and kicked off several years of serious hit-making for Johnny Duncan, including the #1 hits "Thinking Of A Rendezvous," "It Couldn't Have Been Any Better," and "She Can Put Her Shoes Under My Bed Anytime." Through the '80s Johnny Duncan recording career waned then disappeared but his rich vocals are still a treat for his many fans.
