Johnny Lee Biography |
|
In 1980 the movie Urban Cowboy helped make Country music a prime entertainment force in cities all over America. Perhaps the chief beneficiary of that fad was Johnny Lee. From that movie came Johnny Lee's single, "Lookin' For Love," which became a #1 country hit as well as a Top Five pop record. A slew of hits followed, including "One In A Million" (#1), "Pickin' Up Strangers" (#3), "Prisoner Of Hope" (#3), and "Bet Your Heart On Me" (#1). Johnny Lee had established himself at Gilley's back in 1971, and now, a decade later, he opened his own club in Pasadena, Texas. Johnny Lee had a few more hits in the mid-'80s and then, as happens to all artists who hang around long enough, he faded as a hit-maker. br>Johnny Lee Discography |
