Mac Wiseman Biography |
|
Like many Country singers who began their careers in the '40s, Mac Wiseman started out in live radio. He recorded for Dot Records in the early '50s and began to establish himself as a collector and performer of vintage folk and Country songs. In 1959 Mac Wiseman had his biggest hit, a Top Five single on the classic "Jimmy Brown The Newsboy." In the '60s Mac Wiseman recorded for Capitol, MGM and RCA and charted with each of them. In 1969 he moved to Nashville and cut three great albums on RCA with Lester Flatt. Over the years Mac Wiseman became a regular on the Bluegrass trail and cut a number of fine albums for independent labels. His clear tenor voice and the conviction with which he uses it have made Mac Wiseman one of the longtime greats of a Country tradition that goes back before bluegrass, before honky-tonk, almost before time. br>Mac Wiseman Discography |
