Martha Carson Biography |
|
Martha Carson had some early success as a Country performer in the late forties, but in the fifties she achieved a powerful reputation for her high energy gospel recordings on the Capitol, RCA, Decca, and Cadence labels. Martha Carson's RCA sides in the mid-fifties garnered some airplay, and she even took her rock-flavored style into the pop world for awhile. Martha Carson toured with artists like Faron Young, Ferlin Husky and early Elvis, and many claim that her style had an influence on Elvis' artistic development. Although Martha Carson wasn't a major hitmaker, she had a long, successful performing career, and her recordings of the fifties reflect coming musical trends as well as some real conviction. br>Martha Carson Discography |
