Ray Charles Biography |
|
Ray Charles won fame and fortune as an R & B artist with jazz overtones, but as a child in Greensville, Florida, Ray listened to the Grand Ole Opry and, in the middle of his career, those old influences appeared in a landmark album titled "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music." Out of the album came a huge hit on the Don Gibson song, "I Can't Stop Loving You." Ray Charles later followed with a volume two of "Modern Sounds," and from then on Country was an important part of his body of work. Ray's other hits on Country songs include "Crying Time," "You Are My Sunshine," and "Take These Chains From My Heart." In the 80s Ray Charles had a #1 Country hit with "Seven Spanish Angels," a duet he recorded with Willie Nelson." br>Ray Charles Discography |
