Ray Price Biography |
|
Ray Price has one of country music's greatest voices, and has always defied convention to make music his way. In the mid and late fifties, as country music was losing out to the onslaught of rockabilly and rock 'n' roll, Ray Price stayed faithful to the music's traditions, churning out major country classics like "Crazy Arms," "I've Got A New Heartache," "My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You" and "City Lights." Then in the late sixties, as country music began its return to popular music prominence, Ray went uptown with hits like "Danny Boy," "For The Good Times," "I Won't Mention It Again," and "I'd Rather Be Sorry." Many traditional country fans criticized the transition, but somehow Ray Price made it all work. In the new millennium Ray Price's powerhouse voice continues to hold up, along with his touring schedule. br>Ray Price Discography |
