| Rex Allen starred in 19 Westerns as a singing cowboy in the early '50s, and during that time he also cut some hit records, notably "Sparrow In The Treetop," a Top Ten Country record on Mercury. Later Rex Allen was one of several to hit with the Artie Glenn song, "Crying In The Chapel," a Top Five Country hit for Rex on Decca. Back on Mercury in 1962, he had his last major hit with "Don't Go Near The Indians." Rex Allen cut a few more albums in later years and carved out a very nice career for himself as a narrator for TV and films. Rex Allen Discography |
