Ronnie McDowell Biography

Shortly after the death of Elvis, Ronnie McDowell co-wrote a song called "The King Is Gone," recorded it with a flawless Elvis impersonation and had a pop and Country smash on Scorpion Records that went gold. That could well have been the beginning AND the end of his career, but there was more to Ronnie McDowell than that. His follow-up, "I Love You, I Love You, I Love You," went Top Five, and he continued to chart on Scorpion until leaving the label in 1978. The next year Ronnie McDowell signed with Epic and had a slew of charting records including "Wanderin' Eyes," "Older Women," "Watchin' Girls Go By," "You're Gonna Ruin My Bad Reputation" and "In A New York Minute;" all were Top Five hits.
