Rusty Draper Biography |
|
Rusty Draper was born in Missouri, started his singing career at an early age in Tulsa, then moved to California where he made a living performing. Rusty Draper hit the heights in 1953 when he had a huge pop and Country hit on Mercury Records called "Gambler's Guitar." "Gambler's Guitar" was a million-seller, and two years later he hit again with "Shifting, Whispering Sands." That was pretty much it for Rusty Draper except for a small handful of records on Monument that charted but did not hit. "Gambler's Guitar" alone is worth the price of any album you'd care to buy. It's a great example of the craft and feeling often found in early fifties records. br>Rusty Draper Discography |
