Tompall and the Glaser Brothers Biography

In the '60s and '70s the Statler Brothers dominated the Country group category, but the Glaser Brothers were there, too, with a great unique harmony sound on MGM Records. Starting with "Gone On The Other Hand" in 1966, Tompall and the Glaser Brothers continued to chart through 1973. In spite of the high quality of their recordings, Tompall and the Glaser Brothers never could seem to get that one huge hit that would make people want to buy their records. In 1973 the group broke up. Tompall Glaser and Jim Glaser went on to solo careers. Tompall and the Glaser Brothers' hits included "California Girl" (#11 in 1969), "Rings" (#7 in 1971), and "Ain't It All Worth Living" (#15 in 1972).
