Wanda Jackson Biography

Wanda Jackson had so many great things happen in her career that she should have been a superstar. In the mid-fifties, she toured with Elvis. In 1960 she released a rock and roll chestnut with the energy of Little Richard called "Let's Have A Party." It became a Top-40 pop hit but did not launch Wanda Jackson as a rock & roll artist. Instead, the following year Wanda cut two great Country ballads, "Right or Wrong," and "In The Middle Of a Heartache." Both made it into the Top Ten on the Country charts and also became Top Thirty pop hits with impressive sales. Over the next decade with Capitol Records, Wanda Jackson was rarely off the charts, and yet she never had another major hit. Through the '70s Wanda Jackson stuck to Christian music. In the '80s she moved back to secular songs. Over the years Wanda Jackson has been very successful overseas.
