Warner Mack Biography

One of a mere handful of Country recording stars born in Nashville, Warner Mack was one of Decca Records' important artists through most of the '60s. In 1957 Warner Mack debuted on Decca with a Top Ten hit called "Is It Wrong." He didn't appear on the Country charts again until 1964. Over the next five years Warner Mack clicked with nine Top Ten records including, "Sittin' In an All Nite Cafe," "The Bridge Washed Out," (his only #1) "Sittin' On A Rock," "Talkin' To The Wall," "It Takes A Lot Of Money," and "How Long Will It Take." In 1970 Warner Mack's radio popularity began to slip. By 1973 his day as a major recording star was over, but for a while, Warner Mack left a legacy of Country classics still worth hearing.
