Wayne Raney Biography

Wayne Raney had a long career working at radio stations, sometimes as a radio personality, sometimes as harmonica salesman and sometimes as harmonica wizard. Then in 1949, recording for King Records as a singer, Wayne Raney hit it big with a #1 Country smash, "Why Don't You Haul Off and Love Me." He recorded for King for another six years, then later for Decca. Wayne Raney never had another major Country hit. Later he put out an album under the name Raney Family with the classic, "We Need a Whole Lot More of Jesus (and a Lot Less Rock and Roll)."
