Webb Pierce Biography

From 1952 through 1964 Webb Pierce may have been the dominant radio artist in Country music. During that period Webb had 25 records that made it into the Top Five on Billboard's Country singles charts. Of these, eight of them were #1's, and many of his hits were Country classics, including "Wondering," "Back Street Affair," the haunting "There Stands The Glass," "Slowly," "More and More," "In The Jailhouse Now," and his big crossover, "I Ain't Never." No top Country artist ever got close to the unique Webb Pierce vocal style. He was also renowned for his rhinestone suits, his flashy cars, and his guitar shaped swimming pool.
