Willie Nelson Biography |
|
It's hard to find a country artist with a more unique singing style and image than Willie Nelson. In the early 60s Willie broke through in Nashville as the writer of classic songs like "Crazy," "Hello Walls," and "Funny How Time Slips Away." Record deals with Liberty, RCA, and Atlantic, and TV exposure on Ernest Tubb's syndicated TV show almost but not quite made Willie a star. But after moving to Austin, Willie truly became Willie, helping found the Outlaw movement and a new generation of young, eager listeners. The success of the"Wanted! The Outlaws" album in 1976 Willie was monumental, and Willie rode his outlaw image straight into the big time with a succession of major hits. Willie Nelson also scored hit duets with numerous country stars, most notably fellow Outlaw, Waylon Jennings. Willie starred in a number of feature films in the 80s, and in 1993 was elected to the Country Music Hall Of Fame. Today, Willie remains one of America's most beloved musicians and pop icons. br>Willie Nelson Discography |
